This past week Chuck undertook the next step in the transformation of our backyard. He installed the pipes for the new sprinkler system. This entailed running pipes under the deck which was acccomplished with the assistance of high pressure water. Woohoo! Chuck had a GREAT time with that! While the sprinkler installation was underway there was a trench separating the patio from the dirt which you had to step over to reach the hottub. It was a gamble to go to the hottub: if you took too small a step, you could fall in the trench; too large a step and you ran the risk of stepping in the dog poop littering the yard. *sigh*

We continue the quest for a contractor who does cement. So far we’ve had some nibbles but only one bid which is starting to look really, really good. And the weather seems to be turning from summer into fall, and that means the start of rain and the Coming of the Great Mud Pie.
