Snakes on a trail!

gummy worms!Okay, that’s not true. I am cashing in on the whole snakes on a plane phenomenon. What is true is that this past Sunday was the annual Rattlesnake Run hosted by our friends Mary & Gerry. It’s a trail run in the Santa Monica mountains (we use that term loosely beacuse the highest peak is around 2,000 feet) and can be anywhere from about four miles to 11 or 13 depending on how ambitious you’re feeling. This year we did about 7 miles. The highlight for me is always the bat cave – yes, THE bat cave from the old TV series. It’s actually just through-way in a hillsdie – it looked much neater on the TV show. Still, it’s fun to see (I was a big fan of the TV show).

After the run we all headed back to Mary & Gerry’s house for some fabulous “Button bread” – Mary’s specialty – and other goodies like gummi worms. Chuck and I discvered a new way to gross people out. I’d stick gummi worms up my nose, then he’d eat them. Now THAT’s fun!
