I should read our blog more often:

I completely missed an entry from Eileen a few weeks back, then today I received an email from a friend, Richard Castro, congratulating me on our 9th anniversary.  Was really very nice of him to say and to send a copy of Eileen’s post, “Another anniversary”.  If you haven’t read it you should, she is a very good writer.   In fact about 11 years ago when we first meet there were a few times I didn’t think the relationship would get any traction, then she would send me a letter and I thought WOW lets give this a little longer and see if we can make it work.  Fortunately I did give it more time and WOW has it worked.

You know how when you read a really good book and it seems like you just started and your finished?  Our 9 years seems like it started yesterday.  The good news is it doesn’t stop like a book it just keeps getting better.  The other thing that I find interesting is, even though it has only been 9 years, I feel like Eileen has always been in my life now.  Hard to imagine that she hasn’t always been by my side.

As you may or may not know we work together.  So when someone says how much time do we spend together, well it’s almost all day every day and I can’t see it any other way.  We have friends, married friends who really like going off to work and having a few hours of time away from each other.  I on the other hand feel like something is missing when we are not together.  Not that we can’t do our own things now and then, and we do.  But together we are better.  Sounds corny but it’s true.

We have had our ups and downs, but the downs aren’t about “us” they have been what life has thrown our way, cancer etc.  The ups are what we have made of our time together and our adventures.  Next big one coming the end of March. (Europe here we come again and let the volcanos lay dormant this time)  I know we have as long as we have with each other and I plan on making everyday a good day.

wul, Charlie

I love you too, and for a guy who says he doesn’t write all that well – well, I don’t agree!
