Last Saturday, my niece Chris and her two kids stopped by for the afternoon. They live in Virginia, so this was a treat. They were out in California visiting Chris’s mom. We had a high time as the weather was outstanding: we went to the beach after first treating the kids to lunch at Ruby’s Diner in Seal Beach (okay, we were hungry, too, having done a ten mile run in the morning as part of our pretty darned tough training regimen for the AFC half marathon on August 14. And I mean tough – poor Chuck fell on his keister while we were out running so was nursing a sore butt and was sitting somewhat more gingerly than usual). Anyway, the kids are cute as the dickens, and have tons of energy. We were pretty wiped that evening but a grand time was had by all. A few pics are here.
